Climate TRACE
Climate TRACE is a global non-profit coalition dedicated to expediting meaningful climate action by tracking greenhouse gas emissions.
Working with the nonprofit Earth Genome and other members of the Climate TRACE coalition, we helped create the world's premier facility-level inventory of greenhouse gas emissions, identifying, tracking, and monitoring individual sources across key sectors of the economy.
With a focus on mapping all emitting greenhouse gas sources, the coalition provides invaluable insight into the contributors to climate change.
From day one, we partnered across many facets of product development. We started by designing a visual identity, from the logo to the color palette and typography used to give the platform a distinctive look and feel, to organizing a complex sea of disparate data to ensure a captivating and intuitive user experience.
The result of our collaborative efforts is an interface that allows anyone to drill down to specific locations, interrogate various types of greenhouse gas emitters, and discover who is responsible for emissions from all major emitting sectors.
The open platform helps keep the public informed, allowing anyone to verify pledges to cut emissions and hold large emitters responsible for their role in the climate crisis.
The Climate TRACE emissions inventory and website was established in partnership with the non-profit Earth Genome and continues with Ode providing creative and frontend services.
